If you stayed in the Michigander area this weekend, you understand how cold it was on Saturday. With it being cold out, there isn’t much to do. I decided to go Fishbone’s to enjoy the warmth and delicious food. Fishbone’s is located on 400 Monroe Ave, Detroit, MI 48226. The atmosphere was amazing! The lights were dimmed and it had a relaxing vibe to it. The wait was not long. It was about 15 minutes to be exact. The waiter that had greeted me was very polite and conversational.
I absolutely love fried catfish! It’s something about how the fish is cooked and how it is hit with a blast of flavor. When I noticed they had fried catfish, I felt my soul light up. I ordered the fish dinner with mashed potatoes and broccoli. I Always order water, due to me trying to keep my calorie intake low. My waiter was quite the character. He was very charming and funny. He made sure I had everything I asked for and he made sure to leave me with a laugh.
When my food came out, it was nice and hot. When I bit into the fish, it was a blast of heaven. The fish had the right amount crunch to it and it was cooked to the perfection of golden brown. The broccoli was not too hard and not too soft. The mashed potatoes were amazing! It had a blast of garlic with a hint of sweet butter. I ate every bite and my belly defiantly thanked me for it.
Overall, I enjoyed myself on Saturday and the food was amazing! If you’re ever looking for a place to go during the colder times or if you’re visiting the Detroit area, I recommend dinning in at Fishbone’s.
